A Festive Feast' is a story of celebration and togetherness at Christmas.
One Christmas, things don't quite go to plan for Orla and her family when there is a power cut on the big day! Orla decides to vist some of her neighbours and before long, the community comes together to share what they have. People bring Christmas foods from around the world and learn about each other's festive traditions, leading to a different kind of Christmas Day for all.
Key teaching points:
- Teaches children some different Christmas traditions and festive foods from around the world.
- Promotes sharing and togetherness.
- Encourages respect and interest in other people's culture and customs.
- Reduces the focus on presents and highlights other ways to celebrate events.
- Includes a clear problem and resolution that can be explored when teaching the key elements of a story.
